* Additional fees may apply depending on the services provided and are billed at the AMA recommended rate plus the cost of any supplies.
* Longer consultations will incur higher fees.
* For first consultations patients or employers must pay for the full cost of the appointment and can be claimed from the insurance company.
Procedures
The cost of procedures like removal of skin lesions, biopsies and wound repairs vary depending on the condition. This is because Medicare provides different rebates depending on what is being treated. Your doctor can always provide you with an estimate of expected total and out-of-pocket costs prior to booking your procedure.
Additional fees and charges may apply depending on the consultation requirements. These may be for things such as ECG, Consumables for wound care or procedure (See below). In some cases completion of complex forms may incur additional charges (eg. employment medical, insurance or commercial driver's license exams).

Medicare Safety Net Benefits
Families may choose to register together for the Medicare Safety Net so eligible out‑of‑pocket medical costs are combined toward the family threshold, which may result in higher Medicare rebates once the threshold is reached. Registration is optional and can be completed directly with Medicare.
